  • Part-II architectural assistant

    Design International is an architectural practice providing retail, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use property consultancy services for clients across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North Africa.

    We are looking for a Part-II architectural assistant with excellent knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper to provide creative input on a variety of large scale retail and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate will be able to write and manipulate Grasshopper scripts.

    As a Part-II architectural assistant, you will contribute and assist in all aspects of the design process and produce design packages under the direction of the studio team leader.

    Key responsibilities of the role will also include:

    - working as part of the team to develop scheme designs for a project
    - preparing project design work including drawings, plans, images, reports and presentations across disciplines e.g. master planning, architecture
    - collaborating with other team members to produce design work and revisions according to the client brief on time and to budget
    - ensure that project documentation is archived correctly

    Desired skills, expertise, experience:

    - excellent written and spoken English, additional languages of advantage
    - RIBA Part-II qualified/equivalent with at least two years’ post qualification professional experience; experience on retail/mixed-use projects is preferred but not essential
    - strong knowledge of relevant software, such as CAD, Rhino, Grasshopper and Adobe Applications
    - knowledge of the following software is preferred but not essential: Revit, Dynamo, 3D Max, Lumion
    - excellent design and communication skills
    - able to use initiative and a creative approach to problem-solving
    - able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, in a rapidly changing environment

    Salary: £25K - £28K per annum, depending on experience plus an annual discretionary bonus

  • Freelance design assistant

    PRODJECT is a creative agency specialising in brand strategy, design and execution for events in fashion, music, art and popular culture. Our design department is involved in all phases of design for projects ranging from runway shows to exhibitions to pop-up shops to gala dinners.

    Prodject is looking for a talented and flexible junior designer to join our team as a freelance design assistant.

    The freelance design assistant works directly with the design director to design, draw, source materials and select furniture for runway shows and other fashion events. The ideal candidate will have a strong design–architecture/interior design education and a personal interest in fashion and marketing. Ideal candidate will be energetic and willing to perform tasks that sometimes take them out of the office and around New York City. Must have excellent drafting, rendering and graphic design skills. Must have great eye and taste level. Must be highly organised and able to work on multiple projects at once.

    Qualifications:

    - mastery of Sketchup for both drawing and rendering required. Experience in other 3D drawing and rendering tools is a plus
    - fluency in AutoCAD
    - fluency in Adobe suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
    - knowledge of NY furniture stores, vintage and contemporary and prop, flower and garment districts a plus
    - excellent visual research skills
    - experience in set design, production design, prop styling, event or interior design

    Experience

    Minimum one-year experience within a studio environment

    Hours of work

    - 9.30-6 five days a week
    - sometimes a project will demand that we work beyond those times and occasionally weekends
    - those times are given back in lieu and we also provide refresh days that are taken after a major deadline or event. Those days are taken immediately and do not count as holiday

    Holidays

    - 25 days per annum
    - we close for Christmas and New Year.
    - and if you want to take all the holidays in one lump to have an adventure – feel free, after being here beyond one year

    Salary

    - £20K to £22K per annum
    - plus an above statutory pension scheme for everyone from day one

  • Architectural technologist/technical architect

    Scenario Architecture is looking for an architectural technologist/technical architect to join our team and engage with all technical aspects of our projects.

    Our studio delivers high end and design led residential work for both end users and private developers.
    We are looking for an experienced, proactive and motivated individual, to join our close-knit and ambitious team.

    The successful candidate will have:

    - a minimum of two years UK experience
    - eight years of Archicad practical experience
    - proven experience in delivery of projects through RIBA stages four-seven, including production and coordination of all projects drawings and information
    - extensive experience in delivering tender and construction packages
    - substantial, hands on experience with site inspections and contract administration
    - excellent and current knowledge of UK building regulations
    - experience and understanding of BIM concepts, workflows and collaboration

    Primary duties will include:

    - production of tender and construction packages - drawings, schedules and specifications
    - managing tender processes – documentation, issuing, analysing and reporting to clients
    - coordinating work by external consultants and internally with the rest of the team
    - site inspections – liaison with contractors and subcontractors, site procedures and documentation
    - administrate contracts, on end users project, - dealing with RFI’s, issuing all instructions, valuations and certificates

    Required skills:

    - practical experience using BIM software, ArchiCAD, and a broad understanding of BIM concepts
    - proven ability to creatively solve complex construction details
    - excellent organisational, time and communication skills

    Salary range:

    £32k to £36k per year depending on experience
