ATA Architects International is seeking a founding general manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Job brief

A well known international architectural firm is seeking a visionary and experienced founding general manager to lead a new landscape office. This role requires a strong design leader with strategic thinking and deep technical knowledge to oversee the planning, development, and execution of landscape projects across various scales. The successful candidate will ensure design excellence, innovation, and sustainability in all landscape initiatives while managing a team of designers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Job responsibilities:

• • • lead the landscape design office and oversee all phases of design, from concept to tender package
    • develop and maintain high-quality, innovative, and sustainable design solutions aligned with client and project goals
    • manage multiple landscape projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
    • review and approve design proposals, drawings, and technical documentation
    • coordinate with architects, planners, engineers, and other consultants for integrated project delivery
    • mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers, providing professional development and feedback
    • lead client presentations, workshops, and project meetings
    • keep up to date with industry trends, regulations and sustainable practices
    • contribute to business development efforts including proposals, client engagement and competitions
       

  Qualifications and skills:

  • • • bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture or related field.
      • ten plus years’ of experience in landscape design, with at least three years in a leadership role
      • proven portfolio of completed large-scale projects (urban design, public realm, resorts, commercial, residential)
      • strong conceptual design ability and attention to detail
      • excellent knowledge of landscape standards and sustainable practices (knowledge of local KSA standards is advantage)
      • proficient in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Lumion, etc.)
      • strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
      • experience working in the Gulf area is preferred
      • fluency in English is a must
