Gibson Thornley is hiring a studio manager to join its team in London.

The role involves working alongside the directors and senior management team in the day-to-day running of the studio as well as the strategic planning of the business.

Role and responsibilities:

  • responsible for all HR related matters, maintaining a supportive and collaborative studio culture that prioritises staff welfare
  • responsible for studio operations including Health & Safety matters, policies and procedures
  • oversee IT strategy and collaborate with IT consultants to ensure IT provision is fit for purpose
  • oversee the maintenance of studio premises, equipment and supplies
  • collaborate with the senior management team to implement long-term strategic business objectives and ensure compliance with policies and relevant legislation
  • review and identify potential bids and tenders to studio
  • with team support, assist in the preparation of bids
  • manage company insurances
  • with directors and external accountant manage day-to-day finances including budgets, invoicing, payments and expenses

Skills and qualification:

  • a positive and engaging attitude
  • strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • excellent attention to detail
  • excellent organisational skills
  • ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe is essential
  • knowledge of bookkeeping, employment regulations and Health & Safety desirable
  • ability to maintain calm, confident and professional conduct at all times
  • you will be expected to uphold the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism

Experience

Three plus years’ in a similar role within architecture or other design related profession is desirable.
