Industrial design director
Job responsibilities:
- lead the design team in developing industrial design concepts for smart home products targeted towards the European and American markets
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product design meets technical, marketing, and business requirements
- conduct research and analysis to identify user needs and preferences, and integrate them into product design
- create and present design concepts, sketches, and renderings to stakeholders
- develop and maintain design guidelines and standards to ensure consistency across product lines
- manage and mentor a team of industrial designers, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow and improve
- stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company’s products remain competitive and innovative
- communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in English, and be able to work in a bilingual environment
Qualifications:
- bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design or a related field
- eight plus years’ of experience in industrial design, with a focus on smart home products
- strong leadership and team management skills
- excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- proficiency in design software
- knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- a portfolio of previous design work demonstrating creativity, innovation, and attention to detail
