Part 2 senior architectural assistant

DJD Architects is seeking a Part 2 senior architectural assistant to join its team in Worcester, UK.
Due to a continued increase in workload we are looking for a Part 2 qualified senior architectural assistant to join the team to work on a mix of projects and progress through Part 3. This is not a job where you will spend several years doing visuals and initial concepts, you will be working on a mix of residential and commercial projects from day one, with technical and contract experience and with lots of support with Part 3. Key details:
- salary £30,000 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week, 9-5.30pm, lunch 1-2pm
- holidays 30 days per year including bank holidays
- pension: four per cent employer contributions, five per cent employee contributions
- hybrid working, up to two days a week working from home (after probation period)
- ten days study leave for Part 3
- Part 3 Course fees at RIBA North West (or equal approved).
- laptop and iPad for hybrid working and study
- salary reviewed annually, consistently exceeding 2x multiplier of salary/fees earned, will be reflected in increases
Part 3 experience benefits:
- opportunity to lead, with director supervision, on projects to gain experience
- able to offer full range of work stage experience on a range of projects, including site and technical experience
- opportunity for client contact and day to day job management, with support, including brief taking and fee proposals

supportive and friendly, small team working environment, with experience of helping candidates succeed at Part 3 - CPD – participation in in office lunch time seminars, as well as technical workshops and RIBA online CPD
Candidate requirements:
- RIBA validated Part 1 and 2, including those graduating this summer
strong design and drawing skills - a flair for drawing and presentation
- demonstrable ability to consider the client and building users in developing design proposals
- good teamwork skills
- a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness to contribute to wider practice activities
- excellent communications skills, including written communication for dealing with clients, planners, contractors, and other consultants
- excellent time management, and ability to work to deadlines;
an understanding of construction principles and building safety requirements - an interest in construction drawing, detailing and problem solving;
the ability to demonstrate good IT and BIM skills, ArchiCAD an advantage but not required - click here for the job description
- to be successful in this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator who can articulate complicated issues between our clients and project teams. You will also need to show ambition and a willingness to learn whilst demonstrating high-level diligence and organisational skills
