Mid-weight designer and project manager assistant
at Sogni Di Cristallo
Sogni di Cristallo is hiring a mid-weight designer and project manager assistant to join its team in New York.
About us
Sogni di Cristallo (SDC) is a leading Italian brand specializing in the design, manufacture, and craftsmanship of lighting and architectural glass.
With studios in Venice (Italy), London (UK), and New York (US), our mission is to preserve and innovate Venetian glassworking traditions and share them worldwide. We collaborate with architects, interior designers, and private clients on bespoke, high-end projects – from luxury residences to commercial spaces, restaurants, hotels, and private members’ clubs.
As SDC continues to grow, we launched our first U.S. branch in New York in early 2025.
The role
We’re seeking a mid-weight designer and project manager assistant to join our NY-based team. You’ll work closely with our London project manager and Italian master artisans, taking part in the entire project lifecycle – from concept and detailed design to prototypes, production, and final delivery.
This is a design and coordination hybrid role, ideal for someone who enjoys both creative problem-solving and fast, hands-on project delivery. You’ll be at the center of cross-continental collaborations, ensuring the seamless execution of bespoke lighting and glass installations for our US clients.
Key responsibilities:
- create 3D models, technical drawings, and shop drawings for client approval
- prepare client presentations and feasibility studies aligned with design intent and budget
- coordinate the flow of information between the Italian production team and the London office
- support mock-up development and prepare documentation for prototypes
- attend client meetings, site surveys, and oversee the design, production, delivery, and occasionally installation of US projects (as occasionally needed)
- assist the project manager with scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination
Requirements:
- fegree or proven experience in architecture/interior design
- experience with construction sites or custom manufacturing projects is a plus
- fluent English (Italian is a very strong advantage)
- proficiency in AutoCAD and Rhino (2D/3D)
- good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- advanced Excel skills (project trackers, schedules)
- understanding of glass, metalwork, or bespoke fabrication is a plus
- highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented, comfortable owning tasks and driving them forward
- strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote, multi-country team
- must be based in New York. Please do not apply if this is not the case
What we offer:
- four-day work week
- Soho Works co-working membership in US
- competitive salary, based on experience
- opportunity to work on iconic luxury projects across the US, UK, and Europe
