Architectural designer

DC+HD is looking for a creative and detail-oriented architectural designer to join its team in Qingdao, China.
The ideal candidate will have a strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and a passion for creating innovative architectural solutions.
You will collaborate with senior designers and project managers to develop concept designs and contribute to all phases of the design process.
Key responsibilities:
- develop architectural concepts, schematic designs, and detailed drawings for various project types (residential, commercial, hospitality, etc.)
- produce high-quality 2D/3D drawings, renderings, and presentations using design software
- collaborate with engineers, consultants, and clients to refine design solutions
- participate in site visits and design reviews to ensure project alignment with design intent
- stay updated on industry trends, materials, and sustainable design practices
Qualifications and skills
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
Experience:
- minimum of one year of professional architectural design experience
- portfolio demonstrating strong design skills and technical proficiency
Technical skills:
- proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite
- experience with BIM workflows and rendering software (e.g., D5, Lumion) is a plus
Soft skills:
- strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving abilities
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Language:
- fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Chinese language skills are a bonus
