Part 1/2 architectural assistant

Michaelis Boyd is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Part 1/2 architectural assistant to join its London office.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-end residential projects across multiple UK locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • collaborate closely with our founder, Alex Michaelis, as well as project leads, Directors, and Partners on diverse site locations
  • produce creative conceptual design drawings for both pitch documents and live projects (including 3D, 2D, and hand-drawn work) across various project types, including high-end residential schemes, refurbishments, fit outs, and new builds
  • prepare drawings for planning applications and detailed tender packages
  • liaise with external consultants (structural, mechanical engineers) to integrate technical details into designs
  • present work internally to Alex, directors and partners
  • attend on site meetings and manage queries as required.

Requirements:

  • essential – Part 1 or Part 2 architectural degree or equivalent
  • previous work experience in architectural practices
  • flexibility to travel: candidates must be willing and enthusiastic to travel to multiple UK site locations
  • creative flair: demonstrable experience in producing innovative designs for high end hospitality and residential projects, including 3D modelling, 2D, and hand-drawing
  • strong communication skills: Confident and proactive in conveying updates and liaising with directors, project architects, and external consultants
  • ability to present drawings internally and work collaboratively within a medium sized practice
  • self motivated, eager to learn, and adaptable to assist other teams when needed
  • proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and CAD software, preferably Vectorworks and/or Enscape and Lumion
