FF&E designer
at Kibre

Kibre is hiring an FF&E designer to join its team in London.

About us

At Kibre, we are not just creating spaces, we are crafting experiences. Based in the bustling heart of Clerkenwell, London, and the tranquil countryside of West Sussex, we are a dynamic and innovative interior design company that works across residential, commercial and Built-to-Rent, with the ambition of expanding into new sectors and markets.

We are a unique business that specialises not only in interior design, but we also design and manufacture bespoke furnishings to complete the perfect look and fit for our projects, and we run all procurement and installation logistics in-house.

Our mission is to blend cutting-edge design with unparalleled craftsmanship, making each project standout against the competition. We’re looking for an FF&E designer who shares our passion for innovation, respects the art of craftsmanship, and thrives in an inclusive, people-first culture.

The role

As an FF&E designer, you won’t just be working on schemes – you’ll be a key part of our growth and success. Your role will be as dynamic and multifaceted as our projects, focusing on collaboration with artisans, designing bespoke furniture and overseeing the installations and on-site details.

Why Join Kibre?

  • culture of innovation: be part of a team that values creativity and pushes the boundaries of design and operational excellence
  • ambitious growth plans: engage with exciting new sectors and markets, playing a crucial role in our expansion strategy
  • inclusive environment: join a company that celebrates diversity, respects every team member, and fosters a collaborative and supportive workplace
  • craftsmanship and quality: work with a team that takes pride in meticulous craftsmanship and delivering exceptional quality in every project

Key responsibilities

Design development and documentation:

  • develop and refine FF&E concepts aligned with the overall project vision, brief, and budget
  • produce coordinated drawing packs (FF&E layouts, elevations, and details), ensuring alignment with GA plans, sections, and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs)
  • prepare and maintain detailed FF&E schedules. Ensure specifications are buildable and aligned to performance requirements (durability, maintenance, and compliance)
  • support client presentations with mood boards, sample boards, and clear design narratives

Procurement and commercial management:

  • manage supplier communication including sampling, technical information, warranties, and logistics requirements
  • track costs against budgets, obtaining quotations and comparing options to support value-aligned selections
  • assist with resolving procurement discrepancies (e.g., substitutions, discontinuations, lead time shifts) with practical, design-led solutions

Project delivery and installation:

  • coordinate FF&E information needed for ordering and delivery. Support installation planning with accurate schedules and room-by-room breakdowns
  • conduct site visits and oversee installation periods to ensure quality and alignment to the design intent
  • identify risks early (availability, delivery constraints, site readiness) and communicate them clearly to the FF&E project lead

Team and studio contribution:

  • work collaboratively with interior designers, architects, and contractors to ensure the FF&E works seamlessly within the wider scheme
  • support junior team members where appropriate (providing guidance, checking work, and sharing best practices)
  • maintain high standards of accuracy and contribute to the continuous improvement of templates and supplier libraries

Requirements and skills:

  • three to seven years’ of post-graduate experience in an FF&E or interior design role, preferably within residential, BTR or hospitality sectors
  • an industry-recognized degree or diploma in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture
  • proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and MS Office
  • experience in FF&E scheduling and specification software, ideally Programa
  • good understanding of bespoke furniture detailing, materials, finishes, and supplier capabilities
  • impeccable verbal and written communication skills (fluent English) with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and consultants
  • strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • a self-starter who demonstrates accountability, discretion, and creative problem-solving
