Barbara Weiss Architects is seeking a project architect to join its team in London.
About us
Barbara Weiss Architects is an award-winning design-focused architectural practice, based in Central London. Founded in 1987, our practice environment is open, informal, friendly, flexible, but our professional standards, dedication and ambition are exceptionally high.
Many of our projects are large scale residential, though no two projects are the same. Our non-residential commissions include our award-winning medical buildings, as well as very interesting community, cultural, commercial and institutional projects.
About the job
We are seeking a Part 3 (or equivalent) qualified architect with a minimum of three years’ post-Part 2 experience, to be based full-time in our SW1 studio.
Qualities
We are looking for candidates who are:
- committed to achieving exacting standards and high-quality design
- hardworking, collaborative and flexible
- able to manage workloads efficiently and to juggle multiple workstreams
- proactive in improving practice systems and processes and to assist with PR and marketing
Skills and experience
Candidates should have:
- strong design skills, demonstrable through student and previous practice work
- experience in the residential sector
- on-site and technical detailing skills as well as a good understanding of current UK Building Regulations and Town Planning Policies
- good visual, written and verbal communication skills
- expertise in Vectorworks, SketchUp and Adobe suite (or willingness to learn this software)
