About Tanner + Partners

We are a boutique interior design studio creating intelligent, beautifully crafted environments for the branded hospitality, retail and leisure sectors.
Our work blends brand insight, operational understanding, and technical precision to deliver spaces that are both distinctive and commercially successful.

We collaborate with a diverse portfolio of established brands – including Pret, M&S, Oliver Bonas, Roti King, Jewells, Wasabi and Wingstop – alongside numerous one-off, unique projects that challenge and inspire our design thinking.

As our client base and workload continues to grow, we’re looking to bring in mid-weight to senior level designers, architects, interior architects, architectural technologists and CAD technicians across a mix of permanent, contract, and freelance roles.

The role

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position suited to individuals who can confidently contribute across all project stages – with particular strength in technical delivery, drawing packages, and project running.

Depending on your level, you will:

  • take ownership of projects or key workstreams from concept through to completion
  • produce detailed, accurate, and buildable drawing packages
  • work directly with clients and external consultants
  • manage project coordination, timelines, and technical delivery
  • contribute to both fast-track rollouts and bespoke design projects

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking adaptable, capable individuals who can operate with a high level of independence.

Essential:

  • minimum three plus years’ experience in a relevant role at a similar UK studio
  • strong technical and drawing capability in Vectorworks
  • experience in commercial interiors (hospitality, retail, or leisure)
  • understanding of detailing, joinery, and construction processes
  • knowledge of UK building regulations

Key attributes:

  • confident client-facing communication skills
  • ability to run projects or packages independently
  • proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • comfortable working with minimal oversight
  • strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Who this role suits:

  • mid-weight designers ready to step up
  • established senior designers or technicians seeking flexibility
  • freelancers who can integrate quickly and deliver with minimal onboarding
  • we are not currently able to support junior or graduate candidates this time

Salary range dependent on experience £35k-£55k/freelance day rate £240).
