The Faculty of Architecture at CTU in Prague is seeking a director for the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery to join the staff in Prague, Czech Republic.

The Faculty of Architecture at Czech Technical University in Prague is one of the leading schools of architecture in Central Europe, with a strong international profile in architecture, urbanism, landscape architecture and design.

The Jaroslav Fragner Gallery is entering a new chapter under the leadership of the Faculty of Architecture at CTU in Prague. We are seeking an experienced and visionary director to shape its future as an open international platform for exhibitions, research, public debate and exchange in architecture and related disciplines.

Based in the historic centre of Prague, the gallery offers a unique opportunity to redefine the role of one of the Czech Republic’s key institutions dedicated to architecture and the built environment.

Key responsibilities:

• providing overall leadership for the gallery’s programme and operations
• developing and delivering exhibitions and public programmes
• strategic and financial management of the institution
• leading and motivating the gallery team
• developing partnerships and international collaborations
• fundraising and grant development
• representing and promoting the gallery in professional and public contexts

Skills and experience:

• university degree in architecture, art, design or a related discipline
• proven experience in leading a cultural institution, gallery or related organisation
• strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
• demonstrated interest in contemporary architecture, exhibition practice and public cultural programming
• fluency in Czech, Slovak or English (minimum B2 level)
• curatorial, publishing, academic or international experience is an advantage

The position is open to international applicants.

Employment details:

• full-time position (1.0 FTE)
• fixed-term contract for three years
• expected start date: August 2026 or by agreement
• location: Jaroslav Fragner Gallery, Betlémské náměstí 5a, Prague, Czech Republic
