Frantz Slater Design Collective (FSDC) is seeking to expand our studio of talented landscape architects to include computational designers with a degree in either landscape architecture or architecture to join our studio in Madrid, Spain.

FSDC is an award-wining boutique landscape architecture studio based in Madrid, Spain, collaborating on thoughtful, forward-thinking and globally significant landscape architecture and place-making projects. the studio is in a position to expand, and we are seeking like-minded landscape architects to contribute to our growing portfolio of projects.

Computational designer (landscape architecture)

Madrid, Spain. Remote. Project-based with long-term opportunity.

As our portfolio continues to expand, we are seeking a computational designer with advanced expertise in Rhino and Grasshopper to help develop innovative computational workflows for large-scale landscape and urban design projects.

Working closely with our landscape architects and BIM team, you will transform complex design ideas into flexible, efficient parametric systems that support both design exploration and project delivery.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • develop advanced Grasshopper definitions for landscape and urban design systems
  • translate conceptual design into robust parametric models
  • create computational workflows for surfaces, patterns, grading studies and complex landscape geometries
  • optimize geometry for BIM documentation and downstream project workflows
  • build clean, well-structured and reusable Grasshopper scripts for long-term studio use
  • collaborate with designers to automate repetitive tasks and improve design efficiency

Required documentation:

  • candidates must have the legal right to work within the European Union.
  • applicants must be eligible to work in the EU without employer sponsorship.

Essential skills:

  • advanced proficiency in Rhino 3D and Grasshopper
  • strong understanding of computational design, geometry logic and algorithmic thinking
  • experience working on large-scale landscape, urban design or architectural projects
  • ability to create organized, scalable and well-documented Grasshopper definitions
  • excellent communication skills and confidence working within a remote team
  • professional proficiency in English
  • Python or C# scripting for Grasshopper
  • Rhino.Inside.Revit workflows
  • experience with terrain modeling, grading and landscape design
  • knowledge of environmental analysis or simulation tools (Ladybug, Honeybee, etc.)
  • familiarity with Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows
