Vitra is hiring a graphics and design specialist for a maternity cover at its London office.

The role: graphics and design specialist

Vitra’s objective is to provide unique interior solutions combining the most innovative products with excellent technical and conceptual expertise. In order to do so, Vitra is looking to recruit a skilled and experienced graphics and design specialist who will support the internal sales, project management, marketing and showroom teams in creating professional graphic solutions, presentations and space planning.

The role is for a full-time temporary contract for maternity cover (up to one year) with an ideal start date towards the end of February. Applicants should have at least five years’ experience. The role will be based in the Vitra Showroom in Clerkenwell.

Responsibilities:

  • design and format documents and product proposals to include in tender responses
  • design brochures and supporting documents and material to support of new local products and events
  • create space plans for office and brand environments segments using professional software solutions and supporting graphic solutions
  • produce 3D visuals to demonstrate design solutions leveraging the Vitra portfolio including the modelling of  bespoke furniture where images are not available
  • organise and maintain images in the product reference library
  • design invitations, marketing material and brand material for local events, fairs, competitions, showrooms in various formats (digital, print, large format and 3D)
  • design banners for internal email addresses using IQ Suite
  • sourcing and creating a suitable supplier and material network

Key skills – technical:

  • Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop are essential
  • space planning and 3D rendering: AutoCAD, pCon Planner, Cinema 4D
  • layout and typography skills with a wide knowledge of materials and mediums
  • basic understanding of designs for web: email banners, email invitations (IQ Suite)
  • ability to take a design brief to record requirements, client needs and sales direction to successfully create the deliverables
  • understanding and implementation skills of print production for literature, promotional material, brochures, documents and presentations
  • understanding &and implementation of print production for 3D displays (wall vinyls, window graphics, boards, 3D & POS Signage)

Key skills –  character:

  • well-structured personality with very strong organisational, project management and communication skills, and has a keen eye for detail and is able to work under pressure
  • service-minded, self-motivated team player who is highly committed, has a positive attitude and a keen appreciation of design
  • professionalism regarding time and deadlines
  • ability to work in (virtual) networks of partners and suppliers
  • excellent knowledge of furniture products and market
  • strong 2D and 3D awareness and realisation skills and the ability to communicate
  • hungry for creative inspiration, bringing inspiring solutions to the team and clients while able to follow brand guidelines and implement designs as set by group design services
