Senior interior designer

Finkernagel Ross is looking for a senior interior designer to join its practice in London.

Situated on Shoreditch High Street, and with over 15 years’ experience in architecture, we have a fantastic opportunity to expand our business with an interior design arm to our practice incorporating all aspects of interior architecture, lighting design, procurement, furniture design as well as landscape and garden design.

We are now looking for a motivating and inspiring leader who comes from an established practice with experience in putting the procedures and processes in place to set up a forward thinking & exciting design practice.  The position will be challenging but the right candidate will view it as an opportunity to help establish something special.

The role:

  • ability to develop concepts and ideas, and to present these to the client, relevant to the pre-agreed brief
  • effective and efficient management of all ID projects
  • ability to work with clients and designers to understand the scope of the project, programme and budgets
  • adept at running multiple projects at once whilst managing client’s expectations effectively
  • under creative direction of the director, take responsibility for the design and day to day management of projects
  • reporting on the status of the department at weekly intervals
  • day to day HR, training requirements and management of interior designers and junior designers
  • responsible for ensuring ID Dept. meets its financial and productivity targets
  • negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best possible price and terms
  • arranging accounts with leading industry suppliers
  • setting up of the sample library
  • responsible for the accuracy, quality and timely delivery of customer specifications and orders
  • prepare regular reports showing any variance to budget, estimated shipping dates and cash flow forecasts
  • have experience in all aspects of excellent customer service

Essential skill requirements:

  • strong technical drawing skills in AutoCAD, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • five or more years’ experience in high-end residential interiors working with the most discernible clients

Beneficial skill requirements:

  • SketchUp and EstiMac
