Technical design assistant
Urban Front is looking for a technical design assistant to join its growing practice in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
We are a small family run company designing and making contemporary doors in our workshop in Chesham, Buckinghamshire – last stop on Metropolitan line. Our doors are delivered worldwide and in the UK. We are looking for a technical design Assistant to support our team in our very busy office and workshop.
Main purpose of job:
To support the technical design manager in aspects of CAD drawings, CNC programming, and design concepts of doors and other components.
Relationships:
Responsible to: technical designer manager and production maanager
Liason to: marketing manager, production manager, sales staff
Main Tasks of Job:
Supporting the technical design manager in all his daily tasks to include:
- CAD drawings and amendments of door drawings for client sign off
- coming up and assisting with product development concepts
- CNC programming in CAD and execution of CNC programmes – Training provided
- 3D representation of doors, components and other items
- continuous technical development of current and future products
- aintenance of production documentation to comply with ISO 9001 quality management system – Training provided

- one-two years experience required
Competence:
- proficient in AutoCAD
- experience with Solidworks or other 3D software
- knowledge of Adobe CS especially working with InDesign, Photoshop and illustrator
- understanding of manufacturing techniques including timber production
- experience in the construction industry or similar
