Junior graphic designer
at HBA
HBA International is looking for a junior graphic designer to join its team in London.
HBA International is a dynamic interior design company, specialising in high-end hospitality interiors. With over 20 offices around the world, our inspiring 40 strong west London studio (where you will be based) offers a bespoke service creating beautiful, well planned interiors for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside the creative director and senior designers to create punchy and engaging portfolios and design pitches to include initial concept, layout design, photography and illustration. This role will involve researching, brainstorming and creating concepts based on an initial brief. You must be comfortable working with mood board materials and themes as well as a variety of hospitality interiors and be able to create strong and dynamic content from conception. This role is suitable for someone who can work fast and accurately under pressure whilst working towards tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a keen self-starter and eager to make their creative mark, whilst handling multiple projects at once.
What we’re looking for:
- a highly creative individual. Someone who is able to confidently design and execute portfolios, marketing materials, event invites and promotional material, encompassing both print and digital design
- able to proactively come to the table with new ideas on typography, layout, art direction and editorial design and offer insights to help meet new objectives
- someone to conduct visual research and concept development for project presentations including hotels, resorts and spas to create a strong visual appeal
- someone to work collaboratively with the marketing assistant to create content for Instagram and other social media accounts
- someone to ensure the design standards and branding for HBA are consistently met
- someone with a positive outlook even when working under pressure
Necessary experience:
- you must have a creative flair with a keen eye for detail, layout design, colour theory and typography with the drive to develop current skills
- a profound interest in interior design, culture and current creative trends
- proficient in using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- able to package and produce print-ready artwork files, with the knowledge of print processes and production
- organisation, time management and communication skills are critical
Education and experience:
- one to two years’ graphic design experience required
- a portfolio demonstrating strong layout design, typography and creative direction
- degree from an accredited graphic design program preferred
This is a full-time position within the HBA London studio and office hours are 9am – 6.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 1pm on Fridays. This position is available immediately. Salary competitive.
