Douglas and King Architects is looking for Part 1 and Part 2 architectural assistants to join its studio in London.
Douglas and King Architects is looking for individuals with huge enthusiasm, talent and wide-ranging presentation skills to assist our design team. We are based in Shoreditch and we are offering the right candidates an extraordinary range of responsibilities and skills to take forward.
Attributes:
- able to enthusiastically present ideas as they emerge to clients, collaborators and non-professionals
- curious in acquiring new digital tools and keen to develop traditional hand skills
- a design portfolio that demonstrates a strong enthusiasm for furthering your understanding of architectural expression
Essential skills:
- Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp
- ArchiCAD – some training will be given but self-initiated online learning is essential
- hand drawing as a means of presenting design concepts
- graphic design and visual presentation know-how and ability
- a professional attitude to time management and delivery
- fluency in spoken and written English
Responsibilities:
- working with the project leader and design team
- research, create, prepare and present design concepts; this will involve sketch/concept designs, model making, 3D printing, preparation of explanatory diagrams, and compiling project reports, i.e RIBA Stages 3,4,5, etc
