Experienced Part 2/3 architect

Atum Design Lab is seeking an experienced Part 2/3 architect to join its team in London.

Recently winning the Master Builder Award for a commercial development (London, 2019) and shortlisted for the NLA 2018 office building and sustainability prize for our recently completed 7 Aylesbury Street project, we’re looking for a fresh Part 3, or experienced Part 2, to assist with new enquiries and existing commercial refurbishments around London.

Atum Design Lab is seeking a Part 2/3 architectural assistant and architect to join its small office in east London leading a commercial refurbishment in Clerkenwell. We are an AutoCAD and Autodesk office and an good level of AutoCAD is required. We’re a small studio of four people with growth plans underway. The role suits someone who can see the bigger picture in a literal and metaphorical sense and is a team player with strong individual skills.

We are expanding and finding someone we would love to find someone who thrives on responsibility.

Day-to-day responsibilities including:

  • leading design workshops with client
  • coordinating design team
  • producing envelope tender packages
  • preparation of Revit based drawings and models
  • regular site visits and progress reviews
  • BREEAM evidence submissions
  • producing drawings/reports for discharging planning conditions

Key skills:

  • strong presentation skills showing clarity of thought
  • experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp
  • InDesign, Illustrator
  • time planning and self-organisational skills
  • confident written communication skills
  • ability imbue creativity when given constraints
  • excellent written and spoken English
  • enjoy making physical models as part of design development
  • display aptitude of following briefs and client instructions
  • familiarity with UK building regulations and the UK planning system is advantageous
