Position profile

Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) is seeking a UK-based, full-time Revit/BIM manager, modeller and draftsperson (hybrid) to join our award-winning design studio in London which over the last 25 years has worked with museum and corporate clients across the UK and Europe.

The BIM manager will lead the coordination, integration and quality management of internal and external BIM models and workflows across complex multidisciplinary teams and projects. Acting as the primary liaison between the lead architect and the client’s BIM team, consultants, and internal project teams, this role is responsible for ensuring model quality and integrity, technical alignment, coordination of workflows, and the timely resolution of BIM-related issues. This position will work closely with our multi-disciplinary project teams to utilise BIM modeling to create drawings with the highest standards of detail and accuracy. The role combines strategic BIM leadership with hands-on model management and production support in a highly-collaborative studio environment.

This position is hybrid, with a requirement to be in the studio two to three days per week and the option to balance in-person work in the London studio with working remotely depending on the needs of the studio and individual preferences. Responsibilities

BIM management:

  • coordinate and federate internal and external BIM models to ensure alignment among architectural, engineering, and exhibition consultant models
  • oversee and manage BIM workflows, including model exchanges, TIPD templates, clash detection, issue tracking, and resolution workflows in coordination with the lead architect and project teams
  • maintain BIM standards, naming conventions, model quality controls, and project-specific BIM execution plan requirements
  • attend project team BIM meetings and serve as the primary BIM point of contact for the client BIM team, consultants, and external delivery partners
  • report directly to the lead architect on model status, coordination risks, technical issues, and required decisions

Technical production:

  • production of BIM Model in adherence to required Levels Of Information Need set out in the BIM Execution plan for each design stage
  • production of high-quality design drafting and construction documentation as needed
  • conduct verification, auditing, and quality control reviews of BIM models to align with internal and client-specific objectives/standards
  • provide day-to-day technical and coordination support on design projects
  • creation of design templates and Revit standards as needed
  • provide BIM production support for project teams and assist in troubleshooting workflow and model issues
  • perform clash detection and resolve all clashes

Requirements:

  • five to eight years of professional experience in BIM management, BIM coordination, or BIM production roles preferred
  • degree in exhibit design, architecture, industrial design, interior design, urban planning, landscape design, or related fields a plus
  • BIM certification a plus
  • excellent understanding of BIM procedures, strategies, execution planning, clash detection management, and workflows
  • advanced proficiency in Revit, BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud/Solibri, and Rhino
  • high proficiency in Grasshopper (desired), Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) is a plus
  • collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • strong organisational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • proactive approach to time and task management
  • exceptional attention to detail especially related to model accuracy
  • eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship
