The National Railway Museum is undergoing a period of exciting transformation. Vision 2025, our masterplan, is an ambitious programme of major projects that represent the most significant developments in the museum since we opened in 1975.
We are now seeking a design manager to enable the museum to develop and deliver innovative, high-quality, memorable experiences across NRM’s permanent galleries, temporary exhibitions and in a wide variety of other formats for teams across the museum. You will be the lead design representative for the site, managing a team of designers, embedding a high-quality brand, and helping to carry out an ambitious public programme at NRM and within the wider Science Museum Group.
Joining us, you will be a strong leader; able to motivate, inspire and enthuse. You’ll have a collaborative approach, with exceptional communication skills, and an eye for detail. You’ll have experience using a range of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD or SketchUp), with strong understanding of RIBA stages, and will be comfortable managing fabrication and production to a defined budget.
