BLDA Architects is looking for a technical assistant to the technical director, to join its firm in London.
BLDA Architects are a well-established practice based in Chelsea harbour SW10 – with a strong reputation for design and technical execution of the very best residential properties in the UK and abroad.
The technical director is specifically looking to recruit a talented graduate technologist – who wants to gain experience in the art of technical detailing within a sector where the task might be either to work on the restoration of a Grade 2 listed building – or a new build modern residence together with both modern and traditional interior design and detailing.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the development of sound technical details-often from first principles. They will work closely with the technical director as a technical assistant – and will in turn receive direct tuition on the job to develop their technical skills.
The technical director places emphasis on skill in hand drawings in 3D and 2D as the basic tool for the development of detail – as well as good 2D drafting skills in AutoCAD. The applicant should have hand drawn 3D details explaining their own 2D technical detail drawing examples within their portfolio.
