About the role

The senior architect manages UK/international projects in the commercial mixed-use sector through all aspects of given assignments, supervising and supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities

Project management:

  • demonstrates a detailed understanding of the design process and project brief, coordinating the preparation of the project deliverables and other activities related to the project development
  • takes responsibility for quality control and supervision of project deliverables
  • coordinates and integrates the work of external contractors, suppliers and professionals

Team management:

  • role models Benoy’s values and contributes towards a collaborative environment in which innovation is encouraged and best practice shared
  • builds a network across the business and seeks leadership opportunities by directing and supporting junior team members

Client relationships

Makes a positive contribution towards project meetings and client presentations.

Budget control

Seeks to develop a working understanding of cost control, fee charging and project finance, and considers how project fees are maximised without threat to client relationship and repeat work.

About you

Skills and experience required:

  • has experience of successfully delivering large scale projects within the UK/internationally
  • demonstrates strong organisational and supervisory skills, with a proven ability to manage projects and people to deliver great results
  • a strong communicator, effectively engaging internal and external stakeholders
  • possesses proficiency with computer applications commonly used within the individual’s discipline – Revit is essential
  • good working knowledge of the UK planning system is preferred
  • degree qualified in related design field or equivalent certification or skill level is essential; professional registration is preferred
