About the role
District Eight is looking for a lead product designer to join the team. Ideal candidates should have relevant experience and advanced understanding of furniture design, interior trends, design culture. District Eight is looking for a senior creative who can interpret briefs for the team, ideate and work on concepts, and conduct constructive design reviews.
The lead product designer is also responsible for establishing efficient processes for the design team, and will report to the CEO and the brand director.

Your work:
- collect and organise product briefs from CEO and brand director
- establish design timeline and organise team’s workflow
- lead creative process and present creative outputs with strong rationale
- lead creative revisions by implementing feedback in relevant manners
- lead creative research by driving the team’s design culture growth, organising workshops, training, talks, visits
- collaborate with other design team members to develop products and collections under District Eight brand
- contribute at every stage of the creative process; brief review, research, concept development, design and options, reviews and revisions, final artwork, review with technical team
- research design references and understand industry trends, to inform design process
- collaborate with other departments (sales, brand/marketing) to understand and follow design briefs
- communicate effectively with the team or/and clients with assets ranging from hand sketches to 3D models
- present and review concepts and designs with team members
- amend and develop designs based on creative directors’ feedback
- understand manufacturing processes and materials, including metal, wood, glass, leather, composite, textile and synthetics
- manage design team budget
Skill/qualification:
- degree/background in industrial design, architecture, fine arts
- three-five years of working experience in industrial design, interior design or related fields
- understanding of production technique for furniture and electrical lighting
- skills; hand-sketching, Solidworks, Rhino, Keyshot
- English proficiency is compulsory
- ability to plan ahead and stick to deadlines
Profile:
- Vietnamese-speaking is a plus
