Overview
Design and develop tabletop and kitchen products and patterns consistent with seasonal trends and concepts, and customer/business needs. Under the leadership of the design manager, own the development process for each product from sketch to approval.
Essential functions:
- working closely with the design manager, translate trends and concepts into designs that respond to business needs for the relevant product category
- develop designs from initial concept through approval
- pull tears and assemble concepts
- create presentation boards
- develop designs through sketching and 3D modelling
- prepare product renderings
- create original dinnerware and accessory artwork and format for selected forms
- present to design, merchant and leadership teams
- complete product specifications and CADs
- own the development process through daily communication with the product development team, vendors and agents
- comment on product samples
- issue product approvals
- coordinate sample presentations and organise samples
You:
- are passionate about design, style, and decorating and seek and find inspiration constantly
- love to work collaboratively in a group, and have an innate willingness to dig in and contribute with your team
- are driven and motivated by the possibilities ahead
- think innovation is critical in a business environment and support others in creative thinking
- pride yourself on the quality of work and are a stickler for the details
Qualifications:
- minimum of two years’ professional experience required
- degree in design or equivalent experience
- experience with drafting, 3D modelling, rendering a must (we use AutoCAD, Rhino, and KeyShot)
- Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Outlook are essential
