Decca is looking for a sales and projects assistant to join it’s team in London.

We are seeking a sales and projects support assistant to join our team from November 2019.

Job description

This is a crucial support role for these two areas of the business, which also includes day to day management of the showroom. This is multifaceted position that would suit a highly organised facilitator, able to multitask and confident being front of house greeting clients to the showroom.

Job role

General ‘front of house’ reception duties, greeting clients, answering phone calls and addressing email enquiries.

General office duties, including ordering stationary, supplies and standard samples for our finish library.

Responsible for processing all standard sales orders, providing quotations in Microsoft Excel format and placing factory orders on our in-house ordering system.

Responsible for the layout planning and presentation of the showroom, including all furniture movements to and from the warehouse, as well as maintaining the stock inventory with support from the accounts team. This individual will also have a key role in managing and implementing the display for in-house exhibitions that take place twice a year. (spring week and focus, visit DCCH for further details).

Project support as necessary, preparing fabric/finish schedules and placing third party orders for fabrics, stone etc. as required. There will also be occasions this post holder will be asked to manage bespoke projects with the support of the general manager. Tasks include printing and filing workshop drawings, assisting the design development process and communicating clear instructions to the client and factory colleagues.

Desirable skills:

  • organised and proactive with a good eye for detail and the ability to prioritise
  • a positive and highly organised facilitator who recognises the importance of providing key support in order to drive sales
  • English fluency is essential as we require excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • interest in furniture/design a bonus but not essential, providing you have a good eye for display and merchandising
  • good Microsoft word and Excel skills, this person will also be expected to become proficient in the use of our in-house ordering system

  • pension scheme with small employer contribution
  • 20 days holiday per year (to include 3 days of Christmas close down)
  • after 1 calendar year of continuous employment to increase to 23 days
  • after 3 full calendar years of continuous employment to increase to 25 days per year
  • office hours 9.30am-5.30pm with half an hour for lunch
  • salary range £20-£25,000 dependant on experience
