Senior 3D designer

Air Design is on the hunt for a senior 3D designer to join its team in London.

The role of Senior 3D designer at Air is critical to the health of our design service and creative product. It’s a combination of product design and interior design and involves overseeing all 3D design projects, from conception to delivery.

Ultimately, working alongside our graphics team, you will ensure we promote our brand through delivering the highest quality design work.

Reporting line: design director

Design work:

  • all elements of commercial interiors
  • brand touchpoint design
  • product design: furniture, signage, kiosks, information desks
  • clients tend to be within the property, retail, mall and hospitality industry
  • clients and projects may also be overseas and the role could at times require international travel

Software:

  • Archicad or AutoCAD
  • Vectorworks or Solidworks
  • Cinemad 4D or other rendering software
  • Adobe Creative Cloud suite, principally, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat

Key responsibilities:

  • assist in estimating and the running of project budgets
  • assimilate the design brief and be aware of any budget restrictions
  • develop and enhance the brief by gathering information through research
  • work as part of a team to deliver the best design solution, and regularly working with 2D graphics team
  • coming up with sketches and ideas, taking into account the requirements of the brief, as well as the budget and the timescales
  • day-to-day use of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of high quality 3D models and visuals
  • understand the expectation at each stage of the project in hand and work with any associated deadlines, sometimes very tight
  • you will understand the client’s brand and be able to interpret this into the 3D space, ensuring it’s relevant and appropriate
  • ensure proposed design solution answers the client brief
  • make design presentations and ensure clients are happy with the Air service
  • monitor bought-in-costs to ensure they reflect budget allowance.
  • ensure that within the ‘production’ stages of the project the work is accurate and technically proficient
  • plan and organise time to conform with established deadlines.
  • keep abreast of new trends within interior design, technology and design programs
  • help to develop and/or train less experienced designers
