Event designer

Studio BOUM is seeking an event designer to join its fashion show and special events design team in London.
Studio BOUM realise fashion shows and unique events within the luxury fashion and lifestyle industries.
Our projects include designing and executing fashion shows, presentations, one-off special events, pop-ups and immersive retail projects across the globe.
Studio BOUM are seeking an event designer on a full time basis to work within a small team in London on several creative schemes.
The role of the designer is to support the creative director and lead fashion show, exhibition and event design projects.
Key responsibilities include,: leading the design developments of projects, client liaison, collaborating with key suppliers, technical drawing, graphics and presentation design and pitching and presenting.
Whilst the work is in the creative sphere, the ideal applicant would be confident technically with CAD and 3D softwares.
The ideal applicant will already have an understanding of and proficient experience in designing and creating fashion shows and special event designs.
Skills required
The applicant:
- can design and manage an event design project from start to finish with meticulous detail
- has extensive and current knowledge of fashion brands, previous shows and designers as point of reference
- has extensive design and art history interests as point of reference.
- has a technical and logistical understanding of how special events work
- can share knowledge of designing and creating special events and spaces with the broader design team, helping to elevate each project
- can confidently and independently work in Rhino in addition to other CAD programs
- can visualise in 3D
- from the Creative Suite is proficient in working in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop to a high level.
- can work in Keynote and Microsoft Office
- can put together clear, well-formatted concepts and presentations
- can confidently present, pitch and convey ideas to clients as well as team members
- can be a professional and friendly contact for clients
- has meticulous detail and organisation in daily life
- has great problem-solving skills
- has an ability to anticipate and pre-empt a project’s needs and requirements
Experience and interests:
- previous experience working in a design role at an events agency, design firm or in-house is required
- an architectural, interior, industrial or spatial design degree would be beneficial to provide you with the necessary skillset
- interest in fashion, architecture, set design, art and interiors is key to understand references and develop meaningful relationships with new and existing client base
