Due to continued business growth COEL are seeking an ambitious senior interior designer to join their team in Cambridge.
Your role as a senior interior designer will be predominantly focused on deconstructing a brief to create a conceptual look and feel designs, hand drawing sketches and developing design schemes within a team environment. Presenting to the diverse range of companies that COEL collaborate with, you will be a key member of the team building long-lasting relationships and upholding the high-quality design reputation that COEL has developed.
You will work closely with clients and project teams in order to develop the design to ensure function in accordance to current regulations and standards. As a senior interior designer, you will be responsible for managing your own workload and workflow, selecting FF&E and creating schedules for proposed design packages. Keeping the end-users at the forefront of your mind, to deliver bespoke, on-trend, and on-brand designs.
As the senior interior designer much of the success of your role will depend on your people skills. As such you will have excellent articulation and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of business stakeholders. So being comfortable presenting, possibly to larger groups than you have done previously, is essential. Also, you will require commercial product awareness, the ability to understand interior spaces and building constraints.
The ideal candidate will also have conceptual/technical awareness for decorative joinery items, and it is preferred that you have a background in commercial interior design and fit-out. You will understand and interpret clients requirements and work within advised project budgets and timescales. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2019/20, Autodesk Revit 2019/20, Adobe Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. COEL design are currently working on AutoCAD 2019/20 edition and will be transferring over to using Revit by January 2020.
Above all you will be a true creative, with a demonstrated conceptual design aptitude, able to push the boundaries of what you and your team can achieve within a client brief. It is highly preferable that you have experience working in all stages of projects and being capable of leading your own projects, but if you’re an exceptional designer with less, then we still want to hear from you.
