Blacksheep is looking for a studio manager to join its office in London.

Blacksheep Creatives are currently looking for a highly-organised studio manager to join our team, the role encompasses all aspects of running the studio from operations through to facilities and HR and includes having management and internal oversight of the Blacksheep design studio supporting the senior management team and looking after up to 35 creative designers.

Blacksheep is an international, creative, lead-design studio based in Shoreditch, London. Specialising in hospitality, food and beverage, the studio uses a multidisciplinary approach to deliver complete guest experiences.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in but also comes brimming with ideas on how we can implement new and improve our current operational processes.

This is a varied role with room to grow and develop within the company with a real opportunity to make the role your own.

Responsibilities:

  • FOH support: answering calls and emails, managing any building maintenance/facilities matters, booking meetings, purchasing office supplies, food and drink, greeting clients and preparing refreshments, ensuring the studio is kept tidy and presentable
  • first point of contact for any IT related issues and liaison with external IT company
  • general administration duties (composing correspondence, post, filing, minute taking), manage the logistics, accommodation and travel for designers, provide support and assistance to the company directors including diary management, setting up project files and general archiving, reconciling debit card expenses and assistance with finance administration
  • key holder/out of hours contact
  • arranging staff birthday celebrations and the organisation of company outings and parties
  • assist in recruitment and onboarding of new employees, monitoring sickness/absence/annual leave and arrange employee performance reviews
  • update and monitor company policies and streamline processes for improved efficiency across the studio.
  • promote a collaborative and balanced working environment encouraging wellness by developing a learning programme for designers including organising team events, CPD workshops and visits to relevant exhibitions and shows for the team
  • manage and develop the company’s intern programme
  • product research including developing and maintaining supplier’s database
  • assist senior team with tracking of design projects ensuring effective communication across the teams, assist with the preparation of project proposals and deal with project enquiries and set up meetings with potential clients
  • assist with resource scheduling on projects in collaboration with design directors and assist with planning workloads

Person specification:

  • demonstrable experience within studio/office operations
  • a confident multi-tasker able to identify and troubleshoot whilst prioritising key issues
  • passion for creative industries and previous linked experience
  • understanding of creative workflow from brief through to delivery
  • a positive contributor with a ‘can-do’ attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
  • excellent people and communication skills with the ability to be discreet, confidential and reliable at all times
  • approachable and responsive – a confident and collaborative communicator
  • a highly organised, practical and resourceful self-starter
  • computer literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel etc.)
