Rachel Simone Interior and Design is a full-service high-end residential interior design firm based in New York, seeking to bring a fresh, talented and motivated assistant project manager to join our team. Candidates need to have strong knowledge of interior design day-to-day processes, must have a degree in interior design and one-three years of experience on high-end residential projects. Having familiarity with industry vendors and an understanding of construction are a plus. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual and works well independently as well as on small teams. To succeed in this role, you are able to handle multiple projects at one time, are organised, resourceful, and able to keep up with fast pace demands. This person should have eloquent communication skills, be eager to learn our systems and add value wherever needed.
Some of the requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- site visits as needed
- work collaboratively with the principal and senior project manager to meet project timelines and goals
- vendor communication to collect pricing, stock information, and request samples.
- experience with custom orders
- assist in preparation of design presentations
- attend meetings with the Principal and take detailed notes during the meeting
- gathering and reviewing spec sheets and assist in preparation of spec books
- maintain concise project documentation, including generating design and client meeting notes, preparing meeting agendas and issuing meeting follow-up notes
- working with the team to help manage budgets, priorities, and tracking all orders related to the projects
- assist with preparing for and executing project installations
- help design team maintain the project schedule
- coordinate deliveries/installations with receiving warehouses or to clients home
- run errands to/from design showrooms and as needed for the projects
- willing to do any task needed for the project
- assist with office management, including but not limited to: scheduling meetings, walk-throughs, client appointments and all other tasks
- management and organization of materials library and project bins
- proficiency with AutoCAD
- knowledge of Photoshop
- SketchUp modelling (a plus but not needed)
- V-ray renderings (a plus but not needed)
- knowledge of studio designer, or ability to learn new software
- knowledge in social media a plus
- Mac Proficient – Keynote, Numbers, Pages
