OReilly is a visual art studio creating bespoke digital art and animation for architecture and the creative industries.

Job description

This position is for freelance. We are looking for a highly creative designer with strong visualisation skills to work on a number of exciting architecture and concept projects.

The candidate will have the experience and ability to take sketches/mood boards and client briefs to create emotive photorealistic imagery.

Candidates will work with the studio director through image conception and have the opportunity to influence project direction.

The individual will be highly organised, work well under pressure and have a fundamental passion for design and concept imagery.

Personal attributes:

  • excellent eye for visual composition
  • interest in architecture, photography, film, art
  • ability to move across a wide range of visual styles from collage to photorealistic
  • experimental attitude and willingness to test ideas from different approaches
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • ability to work to structured plans and time requirements
  • highly organised and detail-oriented

Qualifications and skills:

  • minimum two years’ professional visualisation experience
  • bachelor’s degree from an art or design school preferred
  • mandatory – advanced skills in digital modelling, UVW mapping, material creation, lighting and post-production
  • mandatory software skills – 3ds Max, V-Ray/Corona, Adobe Creative Suite, photography
  • additional software knowledge preferable; AutoCAD/Vectorworks, Forest Pack, RailClone, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine, Unity, SketchUp
  • MacOS and Windows
  • willingness to work occasional extended hours
  • mandatory – have the necessary set up to work remotely
