Architectural technician
ADS Design is looking for an architectural technician to join its studio in Leeds, UK. We are looking for a motivated, forward thinking, confident, technically minded architectural technician, qualified to HND level or higher, with strong communication skills to join our small, long established, stable CIAT practice.
Founded over 25 years ago, ADS Design majors in commercial architecture with a healthy supplement of residential work. We specialise in roadside developments particularly the petrol sector. We take a design led approach, looking to innovate within our field, bringing style and beauty to our projects.
A candidate with four to five years experience in architecture would be ideal. In the short term, we’re looking for the successful applicant to quickly make a difference in our ability to produce increased numbers of feasibility/scheme layouts for rapidly expanding clients of national renown. To see these initial layouts through to planning submission and to produce building regulations drawings.
In the medium term, we’ll help the candidate to acquire specific knowledge relating to our specialist fields to supplement their existing abilities. We’ll challenge them to relish the opportunity of finding ways to lead the practice forward from a solid AutoCAD/SketchUp base towards the Revit/BIM/3D realm. The applicant should have a progressively minded approach to the integration of more advanced software systems.
As such, excellent AutoCAD skills and preferably a working knowledge of SketchUp would be a starting point. Whilst Revit and Photoshop experience isn’t required, it would be advantageous. Without it, we’ll support the candidate to acquire these skills.
A healthy knowledge of building technologies and a working knowledge of the building regulations will be required.
Being a small practice, the successful applicant will be expected to communicate effectively with our clients and will therefore display excellent spoken and written English.
The salary will be negotiable based on your skills and experience.
