&Tradition is hiring an art director to join its team in Copenhagen, Denmark.
We are looking for an art director that can create a strong brand identity. Someone who can take responsibility for the overall visual communication of our products, by creating the right look, thought well-through across the collection, that suits the brand identity; working with colours, textiles and various materials.
Role summary
As an art director you will be creating a strong art direction for the collection that reflects the company’s core values and ideals. You will be collaborating with designers to create the look of a product by using cutting-edge combinations of materials and colours. You will report to our head of design and your workplace will be in Copenhagen (if you are currently located outside of Denmark, we can assist in a moving process).
Responsibilities:
- visualising and maintaining &Tradition’s vision in the collection
- delivering a captivating visual message into the products
- present product art direction to the external designers
- generating clear ideas and visualising the concepts around new designs
- produce sketches and storyboards
- work together with the brand team on product launches and photoshoots
- stay on top of trends and developments regarding sustainability
- develop presentation approaches, styles and techniques for the team to implement
- analyse market trends, consumer needs and the competitive landscape
Experience and knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion, art, fine arts and/or design
- three years of experience as an art director
- proficient with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite
- strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives
- team player with strong communication skills
- excellent knowledge of fabrics and finishes
- technical and artistic skills in order to execute creative ideas in a practical form
- fluent in English
