Intermediate lighting designer
at Visual Energy
Visual Energy is seeking an intermediate lighting designer to join its team in London.
Visual Energy is a long-established international architectural lighting design consultancy looking to grow it’s fast-paced and dynamic design studio in London. We work exclusively on high-end and luxury projects throughout the world with some of the biggest brands.
We are looking for a creative thinker to join our consultancy as an intermediate lighting designer, and to be a part of our ongoing growth and development in our London studio.
You will work on a wide variety of high-end exciting luxury lighting projects worldwide, and we ask you to see our website to see if it meets with your style and aspirations.

You:
- you’ll have at least three years’ experience in lighting design
- you’ll have a design related degree e.g. lighting, architecture, interior design, product design
- have experience working in a small team to produce everything from concept to completion
- highly creative, with ability to sketch and communicate ideas well
- self-motivated and proactive, with a positive attitude to problem solving and teamwork
- well-organised, with an ability to prioritise workload
- work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- a very good eye for detail
- proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign and MS Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD and DIALux/Evo (or Relux) is required
Tasks:
- produce CAD drawings including lighting layouts, control layouts, details
- produce luminaire specifications in Excel
- producing lighting control schedules with scene setting, in Excel
- produce lighting concept report mainly in InDesign
- produce 3d lighting calculations (DIALux/Evo)
- enhancing visuals with lighting effects utilising Photoshop
- attending design workshops, client meetings and site visits, in person and virtual (take notes of all meetings)
