With a strong consumer research, market trends and brand strategy offer, Seymourpowell has a deep heritage in product design and developing game-changing consumer solutions.
The office is located in south west London.
The strategy and the ambition for brand
Seymourpowell has always been cognisant of brand; it has not been a design house with a prescribed signature. SP has always designed to suit and evolve specific brands and to engage with specific audiences. SP has been retained as brand consultants for the last 15 years within FMCG, beverages, fashion, product and retail. The SP perspective has proved to be distinct and valuable as we enable brand owners to move from theory and hypothesis into unique physical products and services that perform and provide better financial returns.
As the world transitions from a broadcast mindset with brand owners communicating en masse to a more narrowcast world of empowered consumers communicating peer-to-peer; old communication based brand models are less relevant. Brand owners need to ‘get real’ and provide new products and services that delight and engage consumers and so earn the right to be used, enjoyed, and recommended.
The SP Brand perspective is about making the future real for our clients and the world; we know that the time is right for us to focus on our unique angle on brand and take ours, and our clients’ businesses, into a brand new future. The elevation of brand within the approach is a key strategic development for the future of current workstreams and the development of new workstreams. The role and the ambition
This appointment requires a talented strategic thinker who can help lead Seymourpowell’s creative brand direction. An ambitious, entrepreneurial spirit combined with vision and experience of brand will be required to successfully fulfil this role.
The design director will form part of a seamless relationship between product, foresight and brand at Seymourpowell, working with our team of outstanding strategists and some of the most innovative creative thinkers in the industry.
The person
The core remit for the brand design director is to work with our creative director to lead, motivate and develop a talented branding design team.
We are looking for a brand-savvy design director who has a breadth of experience and track record with FMCG clients and who will bring a creative flair and big picture thinking to the team. The ability to deliver innovative and exciting ideas and turn them into truly inspiring designs is paramount. The successful candidate will have an ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit with a hunger to win pitches and new projects and have the desire and ability to lead projects and a team of designers independently.

They will be forward-thinking, able to interpret client briefs and turn them into brilliant creative concepts
