Senior interior designer

McCrum Interior Design is seeking a senior interior designer to join its team in London.

We are looking for a highly motivated and excellent senior designer to join our team on a freelance basis with the possibility of a more permanent role.

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience and working knowledge of luxury/high-end private residential projects. As well as an exceptional eye for detail, the candidate must be proactive and have the confidence to direct all the creative stages and the skills to lead a small team. This role will suit a creative, self-motivated and meticulous individual and applicants should have at least six years’ interior design experience. Strong interpersonal skills and fluent English are a must.

Your role:

  • project and budget planning
  • managing project deadlines and deliverables
  • client relationships facing and guiding the clients through the process
  • creative direction and development
  • producing high quality presentations
  • preparing detail technical design packages including; joinery and bespoke furniture
  • sourcing and selecting FF&E, preparation of schedules, specifications and orders
  • project installation
  • lead client projects
  • leadership/team management

Your skills:

  • a degree or diploma in interior design
  • at least six years’ post-graduate experience in the luxury residential sector
  • fluent in spoken and written English, impeccable and concise communication
  • fully proficient with Autocad, Sketchup, Photoshop and Indesign
  • experience using Estimac
  • creative conceptual design
  • ability to interpret and deliver client brief
  • excellent FF&E knowledge
  • technical and space planning
  • high-end joinery and design detailing
  • self confident with a positive attitude and ability to inspire others
  • ability to collaborate with colleagues and other consultants
  • knowledge of industry standards a current UK building regulations
  • ability to identify issues, provide timely solutions and prioritise
  • self motivated and focused
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • confident with project budgets
  • strong understanding of all aspects of the design process

You must be organised, calm under pressure, reliable and have excellent communications skills.
