Formed Architects is looking for a motivated Part 1 architectural assistant to join our team. We are in search of a candidate who is willing to undertake their Part 2 under the apprenticeship route.
The route to training as an architect under the apprenticeship route is something very close to our hearts in terms of empowering future architects and supporting them on their growth journey with a good educational programme, this was the route both directors took and the real life experience of working in practice has proved invaluable on forging their career paths. The role
You will be responsible for bringing Formed Architects & Designers (FAD) high quality, innovation and functional design whilst ensuring statutory compliance for any client brief. You will be involved in new build designs, residential extensions, alterations, restorations, and conversions from the earliest stages right through to tender.
Responsibilities:
- working as part of a team, assisting in the development of design proposals
- assisting in the preparation of drawings, reports, visualisations, schedules and specifications
- coordinating designs with other members of the team
- producing planning application drawings and develop further detailed stages suitable for building regulation applications, tender and construction
- liaising with clients and other consultants to develop designs and prepare documentation for tender purposes, including specification writing
- you must be eligible to work in the UK
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - UK university architectural degree
- proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Revit and Microsoft Office is required
- fluent in English, impeccable grammar and punctuation
- great interpersonal and communication skills
- good time-management skills
- highly organised and a can-do attitude
- willingness to undertake Part 2 under the apprentice route with us

We are looking to support a Part 1 to getting their Part 3, and work collaboratively to provide support and exposure with project running. We have a strong track record in supporting Part 2’s towards qualification and hope you can be the next candidate that can supported by the FAD Team in this journey.
