Your new role
We are calling for expressions of interest for project lead architecture roles in our Auckland office. You will be part of some exciting and meaningful projects across a range of scales. Our projects span over a variety of typologies including education, aged care, commercial, residential and industrial. We have a highly collaborative mindset, not just internally, but also with our clients from project start to finish, and beyond. Your role will incorporate both the client side, consultants as well as management of the internal project teams. You will be hands-on with each project, and be responsible for front-end design, project feasibility through all the phases of projects. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of the New Zealand housing market. You should have experience of timber-frame, along with multi-unit/multi-level residential housing projects. Any experience in the design of compact housing will be highly regarded.
Your new role will include:
- a chance to use your technical/design skills to produce some innovative design solutions
- responsibility for producing documents to support building consents
- develop concepts using freehand sketch, presentation packages and documentation tools
- utilisation of Revit to produce working drawings and documentation to a high standard
- under direction, participation in entire projects from design to concept design to the construction phases of a variety of projects
- project team leadership and collaboration with project team members and consultants to ensure that ongoing works are consistent with delegated instruction
About you
You will have ambition, drive, and an appetite for success in spades. In addition, you will possess the following:
- a relevant tertiary level architectural qualification, with over five years’ post-graduate experience architecture firm. Either overseas registered or on your pathway to becoming New Zealand registered
- experience with Revit and Photoshop/InDesign
- proven technical detailing knowledge and interest. Including an excellent understanding of construction techniques, weather-tightness detailing and technical knowledge of building materials
- demonstration of knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand building codes and standards, contracts, and health and safety in design
- ability to develop elements of design from concept sketch to detailed design models/drawings
- outstanding interpersonal and client management skills and be able to competently juggle multiple competing priorities without compromising on quality
- resilient, pragmatic, and positive can-do attitude with a sense of pride in your work
- great problem-solving skills with a solution focused approach
- an aptitude to work independently and with agility as part of projects teams
- a clear drive for results to achieve project outcomes
- continuous learner who is passionate about property development, architecture, and the building industry
