Opportunity for a junior interior designer at David Phillips Group in London.
The David Phillips Group has been creating interiors and furnishing solutions for over 50 years. From Student accommodation to BTR show homes, we have a strong and dynamic team of interior designers and product specialists all with a passion for design.
We are looking for a junior interior designer that can work across our housing and student accommodation/contract department; providing design support on a range of projects. Working closely with the senior team to provide detailed and tailored responses to client briefs; taking projects from concept through to installation.
The environments that we specialise in are:
- student accommodation
- residential – retirement living
- residential – housing
- universities
The candidate should be personable, have excellent attention to detail, a passion for interiors with a strong commercial awareness. This role requires someone that has initiative and can also maintain time management across multiple projects and the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues from other departments and take direction from your senior team.
Main activities:
- interior and spatial design of commercial and residential projects, including 2D and 3D modelling
- producing ‘sample’ or ‘mood’ boards for presentation to clients
- creation of presentation documents for client meetings
- attending site visits and client meetings
- assist in sourcing bespoke product or finishes
- assist in sourcing upholstery fabrics
- onsite installations including styling and dressing
- project administration

Experience and skills:
- BA Hons interior design or equivalent degree and interior design qualification
- strong space planning skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- outstanding attention to detail
- strong administration and organisational skills
- proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp. V-Ray an advantage
- proficient in Photoshop & InDesign
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Salary: dependant on working experience
