Purpose of the role
The in-house architect will support in the project development of our stores across Europe, coordinate and ensure all projects are efficiently managed and delivered in a timely and cost effective manner. In this role, you will act as the project architect developing and enhancing store and counter designs across the region whilst also ensuring that existing and new doors meet the appropriate quality standards. You will have impeccable 2D and rendering skills using softwares such as Rhinoceros, V-Ray, AutoCAD, Revit etc. You will be receptive to regular and constructive feedback, allow adequate time to propose several alternatives and deal with various stakeholders.
This is a full-time position for a fixed-term period of 12-months. The position is based in Paris.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- develop design for retail projects including signature store and counters in Europe under the guidance of the VM and store design manager
- generate design for specialised projects including office, pop-up installation and exhibition space
- produce full-set construction documentation for bidding and construction
- conduct regular construction site visits and factory visits to monitor quality
- support external architects and other Aesop creative to producing graphic visualisation drawings
- conduct monthly store visits for assessment on defects and suggest ways to improve retail layout
- provide analysis of store rectification and store redesign requirements – produce drawings and documentation for actual work to be carried out
- produce design presentation packages
Who we are looking for:
- bachelor’s degree in architecture, design or similar field
- previous experience working in architecture and/or store planning with a strong portfolio
- impeccable attention to detail and an insistence on quality
- articulate communicator with ability to problem solve and influence
- the ability build strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, local authorities and consultants
- flexibility to travel to support project tasks if/when required
