UXUS is seeking a project manager to join its team in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Job summary
As project manager at UXUS your role will be to manage your client’s projects, pitches and RFP’s so that our interdisciplinary and international teams successfully deliver, on time, on budget and to the highest quality to the UXUS clients.
You will be responsible for planning the assigned projects and managing them from concept through to completion, including immersion workshops, conceptual design, design development and intent drawings, design guidelines and service rituals among others. You will often handle more than one project at a time from various clients and industries.
In order to be successful in this role you must have demonstrated experience in managing, the creative process and the creative professionals such as design strategists, retail and hospitality designers, 3D visualisers and architects.
You will coordinate all necessary resources to ensure that all agreed services are delivered in the agreed timeframes and that at all times they meet the clients’ briefing.
Having an understanding of customer journeys, consumer behaviour pre and post journey will be an additional asset.
This position will be based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Remote working for this position is not contemplated and full relocation to The Netherlands will be required.
This role reports into the client services director and you will be part of a team of five project managers and one account director.
This is a full time position ( 40 hours /week).

Job responsibilities:
- manage global retail, hospitality, corporate and brand identity projects and clients
- work closely with our design team to present outlined design concepts, design development and detailing, production, implementation, and construction information
- manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, project set-up with sub-consultants, vendors and contractors
- create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- prepare all supporting communications/reporting documentation for effective project management
- prepare and monitor fee proposals, cost plans, and project milestones
- manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
- ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
- prepare for internal reviews and quality assurance procedures
- consult and liaise closely with clients, design and 3rd party project management teams
- manage outside consultants and trades throughout all project phases
- identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
- track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis
- determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and monitoring receivables for project
- follow up with suppliers/clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices
- ensure all project phases are delivered on time and within budget
Requirements:
- three to five years of project management experience within design and design strategy is essential
- minimum five years of international experience in the field of retail and/or hospitality and an understanding of the overall design process: from conceptualisation to execution
- proven track record in managing projects that include creative design
- professional degree (master or bachelor) in architecture or interior design is an advantage
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines
- ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment, in 2D and 3D
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, design and project management team
- excellent multi-tasking abilities
- excellent communicator; able to bridge lines of communication at all levels and ability to demonstrate diplomacy and collaboration
- excellent command of English language (our company language) written and spoken
- demonstrated intercultural awareness and ability to interact with a diverse team within UXUS and within our clients’ network
Technical requirements:
- ability to review, analyse, and make recommendations regarding designs, planning, and specification
- ability to supervise and plan the work of team members
- ability to interpret and carry out complex oral and written instructions with regard to architectural drawings and specifications
- proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- experience with Software programs such as Asana, Instagantt, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Bluebeam, Revu are a plus
