Architectural technician/Part 2 architectural assistant or intermediate interior designer

Alexander Owen Architecture is seeking the immediate start of an architectural technician, Part 2 architectural assistant or intermediate interior designer to join its Peckham Levels-based practice in London.
The position is for an initial three month fixed contract available immediately with a view to a permanent position thereafter.
The role:
- primarily developing detailed design, construction and setting out information for a series of bathrooms in a private residence
- at other times you’ll be working on a wider selection of design-led architecture and interiors-based projects in the private housing sector producing 2D drawings in Autocad and 3D drawings in Sketchup
- we are looking for a self-motivated individual who is resourceful, independent, able to multitask and eager to become part of a growing studio
- whilst we are looking for someone with a high level of creativity, they must also be technically minded
- the salary is negotiable based on experience and in line with the RIBA salary guidelines
- the role is a three month fixed contract initially but with a view to a permanent position thereafter
- the position is available immediately
You:
- primarily you’ll be asked to develop interior design concepts and specifications into buildable, detailed design packages ready for procurement and construction
- you will be participating in regular design meetings with third party interior designers and contractors
- you’ll work closely with external suppliers to coordinate construction information
- you’ll be expected to work independently with minimum supervision
- you’ll be expected to be highly organised

Key skills and requirements:
- must have at least two years’ experience in the UK within the London residential market
- must have experience managing various tasks on multiple projects simultaneously across concept design, planning and building regulation stages within an assigned timeframe
- a good understanding of building regulations and construction techniques and detailing
- a good working knowledge of AutoCAD and of standard architectural drawing practice including floor plans, elevations, sections and M&E layouts
- a good working knowledge of 3D visualisation packages including SketchUp
- a keen eye for design and presentation for both architectural and interior-based projects
- the ability to multitask, manage your own workload and juggle multiple projects at various work stages on tight deadlines
- the ability to take and interpret instructions and work with minimum supervision, yet be confident in asking for help
- a confident individual with excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
