Cross Works is seeking an urban designer to join its growing team in London.
We are on the lookout for talented, ambitious and experienced urban designers to join our team in London, currently working remotely (until further notice).
We are a friendly, enthusiastic and highly motivated collective of individuals, looking to grow sustainably to meet a surge in new work. We are creative, conscientious and collaborative professionals who aim to exceed our client’s expectations, whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We’re a cross-disciplinary team, working on a range of projects across scales, sectors and regions globally; currently focussed on architectural, urban design and large-scale masterplanning work.
This specific role will require knowledge and experience in masterplanning on large sites and ideally on city planning projects. Urban designers who are well versed in GIS applications are strongly encouraged to apply.
The following knowledge and capabilities will be required in order to be shortlisted for interview :
- masters degree in architecture, urban design and/or landscape design (or similar qualification)
- minimum of two years demonstrable professional experience required
- experience on pre-concept, concept and detailed masterplanning schemes
- an ability to provide creative design responses to large scale briefs
- capabilities in producing urban design guidelines/design codes
- an understanding of various building typologies
- excellent command of GIS (Esri), AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite is crucial
- ability to use SketchUp or Rhino is required
- excellent communication skills
- a good command of the English language (particularly written), however, international candidates are also encouraged to apply
Start date is immediate; however, notice periods will be considered in some cases
Salary is competitive (dependent on experience and capabilities)
