Senior interior designer

Firmdale Hotels is seeking a senior interior designer to join its team in London.
An amazing opportunity to join the Award Winning Design Team has now opened at Firmdale Hotels. We are looking for a senior interior designer to work with Kit Kemp and her design team. Working closely with head office and hotel operational teams, the role is mainly focused on residential and hospitality projects, exhibitions and one off collaborations. You will be expected to undertake projects from concept through to completion. As a senior designer at Firmdale Hotels, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, communication skills, fully understand the Firmdale brand and be able to interpret Kit Kemp’s design.
Essential key skills:
- more than five years’ experience in residential and hospitality in luxury interior design
- project management skills from initial concept through to installation and completion
- an exceptional eye for detail and high standards
- sense of style, quality, colour and proportion
- knowledge and experience of suppliers, products, materials, furniture, fabrics, their costs and versatilities
- technical site experience working and coordinating with contractors.
- proficiency working with AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, MS Office. Experience using SketchUp and EstiPC is preferable but not essential
- the ability to work as part of a team and independently managing own projects
- excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, personal presentation and presentation skills
- experience preparing and conducting meetings with external clients
- work effectively meeting deadlines
- a degree or equivalent in interior design or interior architecture is essential
- experience in furniture and accessories design desired
Duties and responsibilities:
- design and deliver large scale residential projects including setting and meeting deadlines
- deliver client presentations and meetings with mood boards, rendered plans and elevations (coloured in Photoshop), digital material palettes (assembled in Photoshop) in a timely manner
- produce floor plans, elevation and joinery drawings using AutoCAD
- manage all FF&E procurement for the projects including independent and proactive sourcing of goods
- manage the budget, suppliers, orders and invoicing for the project
- take responsibility for project deadlines, ensuring they are met and projects are structured to achieve deadlines
- conduct detailed research into products, services and suppliers and produce recommendations for Kit Kemp, director of design
- manage a project efficiently to prioritise tasks
- able to present projects to external clients
