Studio manager and bookkeeper
at Craftworks

Craftworks is looking for a studio manager and bookkeeper to join its team in London.

Craftworks is seeking a studio manager and bookkeeper whose role is to ensure the smooth running of the practice on a day-to-day basis, working with the director, associates, and finance manager to achieve this.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and proactive individual with a positive and flexible attitude, and the ability to take initiative and work independently. Previous experience of working at a design-led architecture practice or a creative company is desired, as well as a passion to help us continually improve the practice.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • coordinating practice-wide administration and systems
  • managing marketing and communication of the practice including social media, awards, press, events, and photographers
  • general day to day office tasks such as answering telephone and email enquiries, housekeeping, ordering supplies, managing subscriptions
  • residential and commercial property management
  • PA to director
  • IT and graphics
  • organising social events
  • supporting the director in achieving our business plan and wider goals
  • implementing and maintaining our staff practice handbook and induction process
  • reviewing our HR policies
  • dealing with day-to-day HR matters
  • assisting with recruitment
  • assisting the finance manager
  • maintaining accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensuring legal requirements compliance
  • balancing accounts by reconciling entries
  • prepare timesheets and submit CIS returns
  • maintaining historical records by filing documents
  • correspondence with suppliers

Skills and attributes

  • organised and proactive
  • a proven multi-tasker with an eye for detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • over two years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting software such as Xero
  • excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • demonstrable skill in the use of MS Office and Adobe InDesign
  • an interest in architecture and design. Prior experience in a similar role preferred
