Newly qualified architect
at MCM
MCM is hiring a newly qualified architect to join its team in London.
MCM are a dynamic award-winning architecture and interiors practice, with a specialism in commercial mixed use and high-end retail and leisure projects, for globally renowned brands. We are based in London where we undertake most of our work, but we regularly work on international projects. We are looking to bolster our architecture team with the appointment of a newly qualified architect.
We are looking for someone with a spark who is passionate about design and wants to contribute to our design process at every stage and is prepared to challenge convention and push the boundaries of architecture. As a practice our architecture, interiors and behavioural change teams often work together on the same projects as a single team without the conventional boundaries of discipline. There are weekly design reviews across the practice and our architecture team has a regular forum to discuss our ideas for projects which goes beyond just the project team contributing ideas.
Along with all the usual things you would expect from a creative and driven employer, we are a highly connected and friendly practice. We are very social and are proud of our benefits package. We are BCorp certified and members of architects declare and we plan to be net zero carbon in the next five years. MCM are committed to providing our people with the best development and project experience to help them grow and have an impact on the world.
You will have a good working knowledge of Revit and be able to provide examples of some of the projects that you have worked on, explain your role on them and some of the technical detail around how the elements you have designed work.
Initially you will work on producing the tender information for a medium sized cladding replacement project, attending contractor and sub-contractor meetings, dealing with site queries, commenting on contractor proposals and detailed design packages with director assistance. The role has the potential to develop into the project architect role for the project. Moving forwards, you will be involved in the design development and delivery stages of some very exciting projects of varying scales.
We are looking for a good all rounder with strong design and presentation skills, as well as some technical knowledge.
Your portfolio should show a combination of strong design ideas and graphic communication of design as well as some technical experience. Façade experience would be an advantage. Revit experience is a must for the position.
To apply please submit no more than ten pages of your best work and a single page CV including availability and salary expectations in PDF format.
Thank you for your interest in our role. If you do not receive a response from us within 10 days of submission, please assume we will not be progressing with your application.
