Graphics and communications coordinator
The graphics and communications coordinator will be responsible for documenting and communicating the work of the practice and its brand values through profile-raising means such as press coverage, events, digital marketing, social media, self-published publications, internal documents, award entries and internal communications.
This stand-alone role requires experience within the industry and excellent relationship skills in order to manage both external and internal stakeholders. The role will require working very closely with the practice’s senior leadership team and any appointed external consultants to devise and implement our communication strategies.
Experience
The graphics and communications coordinator must have previous experience of working within industries that relate to the built environment. They will be expected to evidence accomplished copyrighting and literacy skills, and have a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and PhotoShop. You will be expected to be able to utilise social media management platforms as well as WordPress/Squarespace/Prismic for updating the website. The role will involve working alongside other PR agencies and therefore the candidate must evidence previous experience of working with external consultants.
The graphic and communications coordinator should be able to demonstrate good graphical skills and ensure in house graphical standards are upheld across all aspects of visual communication.
Practice
The graphics and communications coordinator will work closely with the senior leadership team (and support team) to assist in the development of marketing content for communications and new business purposes. You will be expected to have an understanding of projects and activity ongoing in the practice and work proactively to maintain a steady programme of internal and external communications including identifying and recommending content for the practice’s social media channels, utilising analytics tools to determine which posts are successful and tailoring future posts accordingly.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for devising and implementing a compelling digital/social media plan to increase followers and engagement (Instagram/Linkedin/Twitter)
- the ongoing and regular creation of new (and maintenance of any existing) publicity material including project sheets, project presentations, project image assets (using Open Asset), project marketing booklets, business cards
- ad hoc creation of publicity material extending to adverts, newsletters and event invites
- create presentations to aid client/new business meetings
- track and update project milestones across all practice projects and prepare publicity around approaching milestones (e.g. planning permission, construction)
- act as administrator and image librarian for open asset, ensuring project material such as drawings, CGIs and photography is up-to-date with latest assets and that project marketing material has been updated
- track, update and coordinate the annual programme of attendance at industry trade events
- track, update and coordinate the annual programme of industry awards – Responsible for creating and submitting award entries
- write all practice marketing literature such as staff CVs and, project text
- oversee the relationship with any appointed PR agencies and follow-up to ensure their deliverables are met
- organise the photography of projects when complete, arrange photographers, site access and be present on site for part of the shoot
- oversee distribution of licenses between project team and fee arrangements for the photographers
- internally communicate updates to practice staff through weekly announcements, teams channel and formally update on marketing matters at the biannual management meetings
- update practice website with new project material and coordinate creation and upload of new ‘expressions’ to sit at the top of the website (built by third-party firm)
- prepare fortnightly report for director overseeing marketing and update
- prepare monthly board meeting report with update on all relevant marketing matters and points for discussion
- develop and maintain relationships and opportunities with industry organisations
- collaborate with director responsible for marketing to create a responsive, innovative and competitive strategic communications strategy
- implement any new processes aimed at raising the profile of the practice and evaluate the success of these processes
- project management of bespoke marketing endeavours, namely production of Buckley Gray Yeoman’s annual book ‘The Collection’ – liaising with external graphic designers and overseeing reviews and drafting
- plan and manage the departmental budget in line with the strategic business objectives
- support practice when necessary to assist with pitch submissions, new business presentations and PQQs
Salary – dependent on skill level and experience:
- mid-Level: £30,000 to £38,000
- experienced: £39,000 to £45,000
