Expedite Office is seeking an interior designer for commercial offices to join its team in London.
Job type: freelance/temporary with a potential of permanent position
Working hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm
Office: central London (close proximity to Bank and St. Paul’s tube stations)
Salary: remuneration negotiable dependent upon experience and market rate
Start date: September 2021

Expedite Office is a turn-key commercial property business providing services that range from finding offices to space planning, designing, fitting out and relocation. We also have a facilities management team which undertakes small refurbishments and office maintenance.
We are currently looking for a freelance interior designer to join our busy team, initially on a project by project basis but with potential for permanent position.
The candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in working in the commercial office environment and will, preferably, be able to help manage and quality assure projects on site.
The role – predominantly office-based with the following duties:
- producing working drawings using SketchUp and Layout
- producing drawing packages to include layouts, technical drawings and tender packs
- site surveys
- concept development, preparing mood boards and concept design presentations
- researching and selecting materials and finishes, furniture options and equipment required for projects
- working in a fast-paced environment to timescales and deadlines
- resolving design issues with the client and build team
The successful candidate:
- fluent knowledge of SketchUp and Layout
- ability to produce office layouts quickly and accurately is a must
- good knowledge of AutoCAD
- high level utilisation of Microsoft Office
- preferably degree in interior design or architecture
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- works well as member of a team as well as under own initiative
- self-motivation and self-management skills are critical
- ability to create 3D visuals is a strong advantage
- minimum three years’ of professional and specific industry experience
- experience in design control and design progress supervision
- project management experience is a strong advantage
- in-depth knowledge of commercial furniture, fixtures and finishes suppliers
- understanding of building regulations
- experience of submitting license to alter and planning application is a strong advantage
