New York, USA
Business development lead
at Artemest
Artemest is seeking a business development lead to join its team in New York.
The company
Artemest is a company specialized in Italian craftsmanship and contemporary design with over 1,000 of Italy’s finest artisans and brands. With offices in Milan, Bologna, London, Dubai, Miami and New York, Artemest serves private clients, interior designers and large-scale development projects across the globe. Founded in 2015 by the shared vision of CEO Marco Credendino and Creative Director Ippolita Rostagno, Artemest mission is to share the beauty and uniqueness of Italian craftsmanship with the world.
The position
Artemest is seeking a business development lead to lead the expansion of our New York client base, winning new business and growing our highest-value accounts among the city’s top architecture and design firms, developers and private clients. This is a high-visibility, commercially focused role for someone who wants to make the New York market their own.
You’ll work alongside a dedicated sales and project coordinator, who owns quoting, CRM and order execution, freeing you to focus entirely on what matters most – building relationships, opening doors and closing business. You’ll report to the VP, USA and collaborate closely with our Milan HQ team on pricing, custom requests and delivery.
This role is not account management as usual. It exists to drive growth, both new business and expansion of existing accounts, for a company scaling quickly in its most important US market.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- own new business development for the New York market – prospecting, pitching and closing new accounts among top A&D firms, developers and luxury clients
- grow existing accounts by identifying upsell, cross-sell and expansion opportunities, working with the coordinator to keep clients well served
- build and manage a strong, well-qualified pipeline in the CRM, reporting to the VP, USA on status, velocity and revenue contribution
- develop and execute strategic account plans that connect individual client relationships to broader company growth goals
- represent Artemest at industry events, trade shows and showroom appointments as the face of the brand in the NYC design community
- hand off won projects to the Sales and Project Coordinator for quoting and execution, staying engaged as the primary relationship owner throughout
- coordinate with Milan HQ on custom and bespoke requests, pricing and lead times to support the sales process
- stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity and the NYC design community to sharpen positioning and surface new opportunities
- mentor and support junior team members as the New York team grows
- bring client feedback back into the business to continuously sharpen Artemest’s offer and service model
What are we looking for?
- five plus years in business development, sales or account management within design, luxury goods or a related high-touch industry
- an established network within New York’s A&D and luxury design community, with the credibility to open doors at the highest level
- a proven record of winning new business and growing revenue, not just maintaining relationships
- comfort working autonomously with a pipeline, closing complex, multi-touchpoint opportunities independently
- excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the polish to represent a luxury brand at every level
- an entrepreneurial, growth-first mindset, motivated by building something and by performance-based upside rather than base-salary comfort
- based in New York and able to attend client meetings, events and gallery appointments locally
What we offer:
- the chance to lead new business growth in Artemest’s flagship U.S. market, with real influence over how it develops
- a dedicated Sales and Project Coordinator supporting execution, so you can focus purely on growth
- direct exposure to Milan HQ, top-tier designers and large-scale luxury projects
- performance-linked upside, with compensation structured to reward results
- a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company where strong performers grow quickly
We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace for everyone. We celebrate diversity and provide equal opportunities to all, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or any other characteristic that makes us unique.
